With hollow-ground blade double-edged at the point and with a narrow fuller bordering the back on each face, the iron hilt comprising guard of thin bars forming open panels framing shaped crosses, short lobe-ended rear quillon, bun-shaped pommel with prominent button, rayskin-covered grip bound with twisted silver wire, and original leather lining with remains of its silk facing
