The marble plaques, with their ormolu borders enriched with sunflowered patterae, display bronze bas relief medallions of ancient heroes. Related 19th century bronze medallions of ancient deities featured on a boulle armoire purchased by the 4th Marquess of Hertford at the Albert sale, 28-30 January, 1861, (P.
