Two penholders modelled as hounds on rocky-mound bases
Mid 19th century
Modelled as a sitting and a reclining dog, both of similar breed and of solid build with short triangular ears, perhaps intended as mastifs, the first with a black patched coat and the second with a shaded black to grey and white coat, on shaped blue-ground bases each with an aperture for a pen and mounted on later rectangular pale-red marble plinths (chipping to tails and ears)
