With double-edged polished blade deeply etched with the officer's name and regiment HAYNES, 93rd HIGHLANDERS and with the Haynes family crest, the motto ESSE QUAM VIDERI and maker's details (point of blade reground), with steel basket hilt with scarlet-faced buff leather lining and crimson silk tassel, steel scabbard with ball finial and two suspension-rings
