In July 1925, a special order was placed with Mr. Edouard Gübelin for this lapel watch and for the past 78 years, it has remained in the same family. Each owner of the watch has preserved copies of the original correspondence that existed between the client, who had ordered this as a Christmas gift for his wife, and Mr. Gübelin. From these letters, one can trace the evolution of the watch, from the original order to the obstacles encountered to the final delivery months later.
