Steven Dohanos was a contemporary of Norman Rockwell. Born in 1906, he illustrated 125 covers for Saturday Evening Post from 1940-1960. Russell B. Aitken met Dohanos when he entered the Cleveland School of Art in 1930. They were both first prize winners at The Cleveland Museum of Art exhibitions in the 1930s.
