A George III mahogany and brass-mounted longcase clock, circa 1770
The pagoda top hood with brass ball and spire finials and centred by a pierced sound fret, with outset brass stop-fluted columns, glazed side panels, with conforming three-quarter length half columns flanking the trunk door, on plinth with quatreform moulded panel, the 12in. wide brass dial with folaite spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, matted centre with square date aperture and recessed silvered seconds disc within piecrust border and signed James Ivory/LONDON, blued steel hands, the arch with subsidiary strike/silent ring with matted centre and within dolphin spandrels, the five pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on bell -- 91in. (231cm.) high
