A Japanese gilt-brass table clock movement (makura-dokei), late 18th century
The dial well engraved with floral designs, the chapter ring with adjustable hours and pierced steel hands, with date apertures above, the movement with rectangular plates and four ringed pillars, chain fusee for the going train and barrel for the strike, countwheel positioned on a back plate also engraved with leafy designs and with elaborate set-up for the clicks, balance and bell lacking, damages -- 3 5/8 x 3in. (9 x 8cm.)
