The deep sides rising to a flaring rim decorated on the exterior with four medallions enclosing the individual characters: wan shou wu jiang (myriad ages without end) separated by iron-red bats suspending wan emblems and surrounded by a dense ground of foliate scrolls, between a narrow band of shou characters, lotus and scrolls above and a band of petal lappets below, the interior painted in iron red with a shou medallion encircled by the wufu
