A Fine Pair of Large Blue and White Lotus Bowls
Kangxi six-character marks within a double circle and of the period (1662-1722)
Each with deep, rounded sides rising to a slightly everted rim, painted inside and out in bright tones of underglaze blue with a frieze of lotus scroll, that on the interior between a lotus spray medallion in the center and a narrow lotus band at the rim, that on the exterior above a band of overlapping petals, all within double line borders

Ayers, The Baur Collection, Chinese Ceramics, Geneva, 1974, vol. 4, A 510 and 511, where the author mentions similar examples in the National Palace Museum, Taipei and the Musée Guimet, Paris.
