A GILT-SPLASHED BRONZE CENSER
Xuande cast mark, 17th/18th century
The deep sides finely cast with upright petals bound by a cord that connects the two phoenix-head handles, and decorated with irregular gold splashes, raised on a foot cast with petal lappets and with beaded edges at the rims, the base cast with rays radiating from a central mallow blossom, the mark cast in a line within a panel on one side; together with a small gilt-bronze group of a boy holding a lingzhi sprig and a small double gourd sitting beside a recumbent deer, 17th/18th century
