Major General Sir Manley Power KCB painted as a young officer of the 20th Foot (subsequently The Lancashire Fusiliers, now The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers) about the early 1790s. He was commissioned in 1785, promoted to Major in 1799 and to Lieutenant Colonel in 1805 on transfer to the 32nd Foot. He serves with Wellington's army in Spain and commanded a Brigade of the Portugese Army in 1812-13. He was promoted to Major General in 1813 and in 1814 was posted to Canada. He subsequently served as a staff officer in Malta. He died in 1826.
