A French walnut four poster bedstead, 19th century
in the Renaissance style, carved with arabesques and cornucopia, winged cherubs, masks, urns and flutes, the moulded cornice with an egg and dart edge and cushion frieze with anthemion and foliate cartouches hung with a gilt thread embroidered panel and canopy with flowers, vases and guilloche, on four turned, reeded and fluted columns, the headboard with acanthus scrolls, winged and scrolled masks centred by a grotesque mask, the siderails with cherubs and foliate scrolls with urns of flowers, on foliate and reeded bulbous legs, incorporating earlier elements -- 108in. (274cm.) high, 87in. (221cm.) long, 73in. (185cm.) wide
