Painted with the arms of Sir John Barrington, 7th Baronet, within foliate mantling above the motto "TOUT UNE DURANT MA VIE" within a cell diaper band on the cavetto interrupted with four vignettes of prunus, the rim with four floral sprigs and a scroll border

This service certainly reflects the rage for the newly-discovered pink enamel in the later 1720's. D.S. Howard, op. cit., p. 212 writes that Sir John and his younger brother Fitzwilliam, who succeeded him as 8th Baronet in 1776, had identical Chinese services, save for the crests. The title, first granted in 1611 soon after the rank of baronet was instituted, died out in 1833
