A COALPORT COBALT-BLUE GROUND PART 'UNION' DESSERT SERVICE
1815-1820, pattern no. 759
Painted with cartouches of flowers and birds reserved on the blue ground gilt with foliate scrolls, the handles moulded in the 'Union' pattern and gilt with a crowned rose flanked by sprays of shamrock and thistle, the gadrooned rims enriched in gilt, comprising:
A footed lozenge-shaped compote on reticulated foot, 6 5/8in. (16.9cm.) high, 14 5/8in. (37.2cm.) long overall
Four square dishes, 8 7/8in. (22.6cm.) square
Four shell-shaped dishes, 9½in. (24.1cm.) long
Four lozenge-shaped dishes, 11 3/8in. (28.9cm.) long
Two sauce-tureens, covers and stands, 9¼in. (23.4cm.) long, the stands
Twenty-three square dessert plates, 8 7/8in. (22.6cm.) square
