Lizars hand and stand Dayspool Challenge camera was introduced in 1913 and a stereoscopic model was quickly added to the range of models. Describing the camera the BJPA reported that the 'same ample provision for hard wear is made in the way of brass binding...the camera being made throughout in teak'. Lizars tropical cameras were constructed in teak, polished and with metal tongues and mitres throughout in the woodwork with other joints being screwed as well as glued. The bellows were of Russian leather.
