Shortly after the introduction of the Long Focus camera the Correspondent camera was added to Dallmeyer's range. It was designed to be used by 'correspondents, artists and other travellers'. Dallmeyer stated 'this Camera is one of the most useful types that have been introduced for many years. It is extremely convenient for use in the hand, its shape and weight conducing to steadiness during exposure'. Thecamera was available in quarter plate, 5 x 4 inch and half-plate sizes.

The Correspondent camera was advertised from 1901-1914 in different forms.
