Not only a great vintage but for me a paticularly nostalgic one for one of my earlier notes was made at what I believe was the first major"horizontal" tastings to which a group of international tasters were invited by Dr. John Taams at his home in a small town in the Netherlands. All were '61s and Ducru was declared top château. M.B.
