modelled as butterfly-women with outspread plique-a-jour wing drapes, the legs terminating in twin opal drops, with later applied screw fittings, in a case gilt stamped G. Fouquet, 6 Rue Royale, Paris.

The design of these earrings recalls René Lalique's screen of butterfly-women at the Paris International Exhibition 1900. Further interpretations of this theme were incorporated by Alphonse Mucha in his design for the facade of the premises at 6 Rue Royale which Fouquet opened in 1900.
