A Regence mirror with similar dragons perched on the top scrolls, the same flat scallop-shell motif inserted in the lower scrolls and a softly molded scallop-shell to the cresting is in the Palazzo Pitti (E. Colle, I Mobili di Palazzo Pitti, Il Primo Periodo Lorenese, 1737 - 1799, Florence, 1992, cat. 76, p. 148). Unfortunately the inventories of the palace only start mentioning it in 1758 and do not reveal when it was made nor who made it.
