A STUNNING COLLECTION OF CLASSIFIED BORDEAUX
NYWinesChristie's is delighted to present this impressive selection of Bordeaux wines chosen from the distinguished cellars of The Wine Trust.
The Trust, a private family collection started in 1973, was designed to accumulate fine wines for the pleasure of its founders, the Bakal Family, in the tradition of European families who built great multi-generation collections in the natural cellars of their own homes.
All of the wines were purchased as futures and cellared under impeccable temperature and humidity controlled conditions, first in Europe and then later in the United States.
At its inception and for some time thereafter, The Wine Trust wines were only for the use of the founding family. Much later, after the collection was completed and at the urging of friends, collectors and connoisseurs, mature parcels from the private collection were made available to other wine lovers, through a select number of outlets in the United States.
Now, as the next step forward, the collection is being offered to still a wider and international clientele, through NYWinesChristie's.
And, there is still more to come.
The Bakal Family is embarking on a new project - Wine Trust II - to build on the accomplishments of the past thirty years. The new enterprise will be opened to others who share the family passion for fine wine and who understand the importance and rewards of patience in its stewardship. While outstanding classified growth Bordeaux will remain the centerpiece of Wine Trust II, it will also be expanded to include other great wines from around the world, with corresponding worldwide distribution.
One thing, however, will not change - Wine Trust II will continue to embrace the same philosophies of dedication and commitment as inspired the family at its beginnings.
