A rare group of Regency doll's house large scale drawing room furniture
a mahogany crossbanded and inlaid d-shaped card table with shell motif, coloured inlays and turned legs --4in. (10cm.) high, a similar sofa table with oval inlay of a vase, lyre shaped legs and four turned bone handles --4in. (10cm.) high (missing stretcher), a similar rectangular tip-up table on turned two-coloured pedestal with four scroll legs and elliptical lozenge of a vase (one leg missing), a bonheur du jour with diamond inlay, mirror back and lyre shaped legs (four strings missing from legs and stretcher possibly missing) and a pedestal sideboard with shaped back, two draws and two cupboards (one draw interior, two and half feet missing) (5)

This and the following three lots belonged to Mary Ann Lucia Smith of Salthill, Chichester. Born in circa 1830, her father was Francis Smith and her mother Mary Levin. Her brother Archibald Lebvin Smith was Justice of all England and Master of the Rolls.

Another example of a drop-leaf games table by the same maker is illustrated on page 65 of Nora Earnshaw's book Dolls Houses and Miniatures and formed part of the furnishing of the Regency Wilmott House. It bore a label inscribed 'W. Vales' Tumbridge Ware and toy rooms, 62 Fleet Street.'
