A very similar cobalt-blue bottle with white trailed and marvered decoration was excavated at Fustat in a site associated with pre-Tulunid construction for which a 9th century date is proposed (Pinder-Wilson, Ralph and Scanlon, George: Fustat Glass of the Early Islamic Period, London, 2001, no.44a, pp.106-7).
