Of bulbous form, the well-hollowed mottled pale gray and honey-toned stone ingeniusly carved utilizing the darker markings with a writhing dragon confronted by a tiger, a bat to one side, and a four-character inscription in low relief: feng yun hui he (The meeting of wind and rain), followed by two seals: Zi and Yu, stopper

This spectacular example of the Official School depicts the meeting of the wind (represented by the tiger) and the rain (represented by the dragon), and by extension, the meeting of two powerful individuals. The seals following the inscription are the assumed artistic name of the carver, Ziyu.
