An Unusual Junyao-Type Censer
Late Ming dynasty, 17th century
Possibly Guangdong ware, made in imitation of a bronze censer with bulbous lower body, waisted neck and flared rim, with a pair of dragon-mask and loop handles, covered with a crackled, opaque glaze of pale bluish-white color shading to pale lavender and thinning to mushroom on the edges, with an unglazed ring surrounding the glazed, almost flat base
