A Chinese gilt bronze censer, bottle vase and covered box
18th Century
the rectangular bronze censer with twin mythical beast head handles, buddhistic lion finial above a pierced domed cover inset with turquoise, decorated with dragons chasing the flaming pearl among cloud scrolls and panels with mythical beasts among foaming waves -- 6in. (15.2cm.) high, wood stand; a slender baluster bronze vase with flaring neck and foot decorated in relief with a colied dragon chasing the falming pearl among cloud scrolls -- 4 3/8in. (11.1cm.) high, wood stand; and a shaped rectangular box and cover with slightly domed cover, decorated in relief with a phoenix in flight among scattered clouds above scattered precious objects -- 2in. (5.1cm.) long, wood stand, fitted box, (old wear and rubbing, the vase with verdigris and with a repair to its foot).
