cover 1900 (7 Nov.) large, turned "Feldpost brief" envelope (223x154mm, end folded for display), addressed to Schwedt in Germany and bearing pair of 10pf. carmine-rose tied by smudged strikes of the scarce "KAIS.DEUTSCHE/FELDPOST-/EXPEDITION" c.d.s. (Friedemann type FP5) applied in Tientsin and showing a faint strike of the battalion handstamp with arrival c.d.s. on the reverse. The original envelope was probably carried privately and bears a good strike of the Pioneer Battalion handstamp in blue. The cover has been opened out and is creased and soiled, nevertheless an unusual and interesting item. Willmann guarantee at foot
