the silvered dial signed and numbered John Walker, 68 Cornhill & 230 Regent Stt. London No.60., Roman hour numerals, painted blue hour (repaired) and minute hands, subsidiary seconds and up-and-down dials with bllued steel hands, small size movement [63mm diameter], Earnshaw escapement, cut bimetallic balance spring, spring foot detent with jewelled locking stone, brass bowl (numbered 60) on gimbal now in three tier rosewood box with brass stringing to front and top lid, the middle section with inset bone disc insribed J&W MITCHELL 119 BUCHANAN St. GLASGOW, the bottom section with inset bone disc inscribed 2747, recessed brass handles, box -- 17cm. (6¾in.) square; dial diameter -- 92mm.
