The Yearling, 1946, directed by Clarence Brown, starred Gregory Peck, Jane Wyman and Claude Jarman Jnr. It is amongst the most memorable of all M.G.M. films, winning a number of academy awards. Claude Jarman Jnr won an oscar for his performance as the son of a poor farming couple (Gregory Peck and Jane Wyman). Other awards were won by cameramen Charles Rosher and Leonard Smith, technicolour specialist Arthur Arling, art directors Cedric Gibbons, Paul Groesse and Edwin B.Willis and the artist Duncan Gleason.
