Albert Robida (1848-1926) designed the model village Le Vieux Paris at l'Exposition Universelle de 1900. He also designed a series of 6 fans for Duvelleroy of which these are two. Some were published on linen but Le Tournoi is only known on paper. There are examples of both these fans in The Musee Carnavalet, Paris, (Ev.761 and 762)
