A Scott Brothers, Sunderland bowl printed and painted to the exterior with the emblems of the Manchester Independent Order of Oddfellows, GENERAL JOSEPH GARIBALDI on horseback beneath a titled banner and a sailor holding the Union Flag above the title RED, WHITE AND BLUE, to the interior with a verse extolling England as the Home of freedom and star of fame, a coat-of-arms commemorating the Franco-British Crimean Alliance, a sailor and his sweetheart within a verse and other sentimental verses around a view of the Cast Iron Bridge, all within pink splashed lustre borders (slight wear and crazing), impressed factory mark, first half of the 19th Century -- 10¾in. diam.
