A black basalt teapot and cover with pierced ogee finial, in the Chinoiserie taste, of square section and swollen form, enriched in enamels with Classical urns issuing laurel garlands and beneath pendant draperies, the rim moulded with stiff lappet bands, incised 33 to cover and base (minute chips), circa 1790 -- 5in. high
