A maiolica charger painted in the Castelli style with a scene of a Sybil in a rocky wooded landscape instructing a kneeling draped man to proceed to Rome, the city in the distance, the Tiber represented by a reclining draped god, Romulus and Remus suckling at the she-wolf before him, within a border of masks within stylised geometrical ornament and cherubs at play (chips, spreading hairline) circa 1880 -- 20in. diam.
