As one of the twelve Olympians, Mars' aggressive nature made him hated by almost everyone including his parents, Jupiter and Juno. The exception being Venus who fell in love with him.

An early 19th century sculpted white marble bust of Mars, the young Warrior god wearing winged griffin, anthemion and palmette carved helmet with plumed sphinx surmount, on circular socle -- 36in. (92cm.) high.
