A mid-19th century bronze inkwell in the form of a parrot, the bird with hinged head to sinister, inset with glass eyes, perched on a branch, applied with a label to the underside inscribed MESSENGER & SONS, PUBLISHED NOVR 1st 1850 BIRMINGHAM, with glass liner -- 6½in. (16.5cm.) high.
