A collection of 10 a.l.s. by Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, average length 2pp., to Sir James Cockburn, dated 1813-14, consisting of invitations to dinner, official matters and various recommendations, including a Midshipman: "A very fine young man of the name of William Smith ... I have again recourse to you to request your good brother to receive him on board his ship and to notice him as a Protegé of mine;" together with a collection of a.l.s. to Sir James Cockburn. (9)
