A late Victorian walnut octagonal library table, with moulded top above four true and four false drawers flanked by channelled uprights with pendant finials, on four baluster and ring-turned uprights and central baluster support carved with roundels and chevrons on bun feet joined by cruciform stretchers, stamped Gillow & Co., Lancaster - 54in. (137cm.) wide, 29¼in. (74.5cm.) high.

A Virtually identical table, with the same distinctive dot and chevron decoration but apparently without drawers is illustrated in Gillows Estimate Sketch Book for 1874 An oak octagonal table for J H Miller Esq., #15.18.11¾, and another in ebony and walnut, similar but without drawers and with a spindle-turned gallery above the stretchers, for 1876 No. 8968 for Chas Stead Esq., A black and gold octagonal table, #13.8.0½.
