An early Georgian black and gilt japanned and lacquered four-leaf screen, each leaf with three panels, the central panel decorated with a chinoiserie landscape with buildings and figures below vases of flowers above a ferocious animal, each in a simulated Nashiji border, possibly German - each leaf 56¾in. (144cm.)high, 18¾in. (47½cm.) wide.
