The superstructure with three-quarter gallery and downswept sides above three short and two longer mahogany-lined drawers, the lower section with hinged rectangular tooled green leather inset and tulipwood crossbanded top, opening onto a long frieze mahogany-lined drawer, above tapering square legs, woth overall rosewood crossbanding and fruitwood stringing

This form of table known as a cheveret table displays similar sophisticated lines and form to that of a design dated 1790 by the London and Lancaster firm of Gillows. A design for such a table is illustrated in L. Boynton, Gillow Furniture Designs, 1760-1800, 1995, fig. 150.
