AN IMPORTANT LOUIS XV STYLE ORMOLU-MOUNTED KINGWOOD AND MARQUETRY SECRETÁIRE

With a serpentine rectangular ormolu-moulded stepped top above a conforming bombé case fitted with a door applied with firmly cast ormolu-frames centering a cartouche shaped panel inlaid with a flowering branch and enclosing a shelf and two drawers mounted at the angles into crisply cast chutes headed by rocailles over a secretary drawer inset with a gilt-tooled green leather surface over an ormolu-mounted moulding and a conforming similarly mounted drawer, on cabriole similarly mounted legs with scrolling sabots and applied at the knees wiuth C-scrolling mounted casts with satyr's masks, the back with a paper label inscribed in ink 'Schloss Neues Palais, Zimmer No. 246, Sfde No. 26'--53. 1/4in.
