With shortened sighted Turkish twist barrel cut with eight grooves, in three stages divided by gold-covered mouldings and decorated at intervals with gold arabesques, at the breech a gold inscription in Arabic characters 'Qara Muhammad', also in gold, signed case-hardened patent breech with pierced platinum plug, long case-hardened tang engraved with scrollwork on a matted ground, stepped case-hardened back-action lock engraved with scrollwork, inscribed 'Samuel Nock. Invenit', and with blued safety-catch, figured walnut half-stock (minor bruises), chequered grip, scroll engraved blued iron mounts including spur trigger-guard, horn fore-end cap, silver escutcheon, single sling mount, wooden ramrod, and most of its original finish
