The table-top's inlaid medallion of a hunting scene is framed by a sacred urn and Venus-badge amongst acanthus-scrolls that correspond to the frame of a medallion on a table attributed to the Piedmontese intarsiati Ignazio Revelli (d. 1836) (illustrated in G. Morazzoni, Il Mobile Neoclassico Italiano, Milan, 1955, pl. XCII). The latter also features the border medallions of Venus and ancient heroes.
