Originally bottled and subsequently re-corked by Justerini & Brooks. Levels high fill
It was for commercial reasons alone that only a small handful of shippers, (and none of the British) declared 1931. Cellars full of 1927, the slump and the stock market crash made the decision easy, though in retrospect, regrettable - it was a magnificent vintage
Still very deep in colour, opaque at the centre; huge, sweet, spirity bouquet remeniscent of caramelized raisins and later, prunes and cloves. Still sweet, peppery and mouthfilling and plump with marvellous acidity. Years of life left.
