According to John Scott-Taggart, Bibliography of Italian Maiolica, Alexander Barker's collection of Italian Maiolica was bought by Sir Francis Cook in about 1870. It then passed to his son Wyndham B. Cook, part of the collection was sold in these Rooms on 7 July 1925, but the present dish does not appear to be among them
