The central rectangular divided plate divided by triple cluster-columns below a Gothic quatrefoil-panelled frieze and concave moulded-corners with spirally-fluted rod divided by patera panels, with printed paper label on the reverse 'JACKSON, NO 5 Essex Bridge DUBLIN.', regilt, one plate replaced

This mirror bears the label of the Dublin carver and gilder Richard Jackson (1786-1827), whose celebrated 'looking-glass warehouse' at 5 Essex Bridge had been established in George II's reign. It is similar to a pair of mirrors by Jackson that were previously at Louth Hall, Co. Louth and now in the Kildare Street University Club, Dublin. Jackson's label appeared on a pair of Regency convex girandoles sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 13 November 1997, lot 124.
