The Gillow Estimate Sketch Books at the Westminster Public Library, include a number of sketches for related 'octagon dressing tables' in the late 1790's. No. 1206, dated February 1800, illustrates a satinwood 'work bag table' of the same proportions. A stamped example, with similar concave stretchers, was sold anonymously, Christie's New York, 11 October 1990, lot 33
