MEISSEN (LATER DECORATED) CLOCK-CASE modelled by J. J. Kändler and J. F. Eberlein amd allegorical of the Kingdom of Poland, moulded with rocaille scrolls below a pierced domed surmount, the movement surmounted by an eagle wearing the cordon bleu of the Saxon-Polish Order of the White Eagle and holding in its right claw a crowned portrait-medallion of Augustus III of Saxony and Poland flanked by Minerva standing on the left above two seated children holding the Royal Orb and by Flora seated on the right, the sides pierced with scrolls and moulded with interlaced strapwork enriched in gilding, the lower part with Peace crowning the Polish Coat of Arms and Mars standing, the clock-case surmounted by a (replacement) cherub drummer (slight restoration and chips to extremities, wear to gilding, firing-crack to base), the porcelain 18th Century, the decoration 19th Century
