A similar ornament in the Speyer collection was collected in 1843 (see Brasser, 1976, p. 159, fig. 165) and two were collected prior to 1816 by General Sir Gordon Drummond, G.C.B (1772-1854) (sold Christie's, London, 13 June 1978, lot 203)
