Lot Essay

Semion Isaakovich Kirsanov was born in Odessa in 1906. His work was first printed in 1922 and in 1924 he met and became a follower of Maiakovskii. He moved to Moscow in 1925, where he published the influential journal Lef with Maiakovskii, for which Rodchenko produced layouts and photomontages.
