The case contains a plate stating that the guns were exhibited at the British Empire Exhibition in 1924, which presents a curious anomaly as the makers' records confirm that the guns were completed in 1929. They were rebarrelled by the makers in 1959 (No. 2) and 1964 (No. 1).
